Jesus Is Coming Again
By Steve Higginbotham

Several years ago while I was in college, a young man in our dormitory decided that it would be funny to get his trumpet and in the middle of the night blow out the tune, "When The Saints Go Marching In."  Sure enough, at around 3:00 a.m. one morning, we were awakened to the sound of a trumpet playing this song.

Later that morning, a friend of mine who lived across the hall from me came in my room and asked me if I had heard the racket.  He said that it had scared him half-to-death!  He thought it was the return of the Lord, and so he said he grabbed his mattress and held on tight because he wasn't ready for his return!

Well, at the time, I got a good laugh out of that.  Good enough for him.  He needed the scare.  But now, some day Jesus is going to return and when he does, the trump of the arch-angel will sound, the dead will be raised, those who are alive will be changed a moment, in the twinkling of an eye.  There will be no time to make amends.  There will be no time for changes.  And holding onto one's mattress won't keep you from this appointment.

Some day, people will be sitting and reading, just as you are right now, and the sound of a trumpet will interrupt their calm.  If it happened right now, would you be ready?  Give it some thought.
