As a boy growing up, one of my
favorite past times was that of aggravating my sister who was four
years older than me. One of the things I remember doing to her
had to do with the books she read. You see, she loved to read. I
think she had every "Nancy Drew" book they made. So in older to
aggravate her, I can remember watching her get about half way
through one of those mystery books, then when I got the chance, I
would get my hands on her book, read the last page, and tell her
who the guilty party was and how he was found out. Oh, you talk
about making someone mad!
Well, you're right, that wasn't a
very nice thing to do, but I'm going to do it again...right now,
as a matter of fact. This time I'm not doing to it aggravate
anyone. Actually, I think it can help. The Book I'm talking
about is the Bible. And I've read the end of the book. I know
what happens. Those who place their faith in Jesus will be
victorious over Satan and will be given a home in Heaven, and
those who reject Jesus will be cast into a lake of fire.
I hope you don't mind me sharing
the end with you. In this case, knowing the end of the story
doesn't spoil the book, but rather should create within us an even
more fervent desire to read it.
