The Facts Of Life

I can think of four facts that pretty much
sum up what we need to know about life. Here they are:
- Life is short.
- Death is certain.
- Judgment is sure.
- Eternity is long.
I don't wish to oversimplify the
complexity of life. There are many unexpected twists and turns
in life. What one plans for himself and his future, is often
never realized. I have had, on a few occasions, the opportunity
to speak to a few graduating classes of High School seniors.
They are so full of hopes and dreams for the future. None of
them could, at that point, imagine their future in any way other
than success, good health, and happiness. Yet, experience tells
me that such an outcome won't be realized by all.
How has life turned out for you?
Have your dreams been realized? Are you happy and fulfilled?
Are you where you thought you would be? Or has life been
difficult for you? Has your life been racked with illness,
losses, pain, and failures? Friends, whether your dreams have
come true or turned to nightmares, it matters not so long as
we can keep before us these four facts of life:
- Life is short.
- Death is certain.
- Judgment is sure.
- Eternity is long.
