West Virginia School of Preaching

Posted on October 30, 2009

wvsp (626 x 683)This past week, I spoke on the West Virginia School of Preaching lectureship in Moundsville, WV. The WVSOP graduated it’s first class in 1996 and since then has graduated around 70 young men.

This year’s lectureship was special to me because they were honoring my mom and dad for their service in the Ohio Valley.  Dad has spent his entire life preaching in northern West Virginia.  While he has only been located in four cities (Fairmont, Wellsburg, Weirton, and 45 years in Chester), he has preached in nearly every congregation within driving distance in the Ohio Valley.

I’m proud of my mom and dad for their service in the kingdom, and I’m thankful that the WVSOP chose to honor them.  In the picture above are my sister, Janie Gallagher, my mom and dad, Rose and Frank Higginbotham, and myself.
