This week, I have been in Chester, WV, preaching in a gospel meeting. Chester is a special place to me. You see, Chester is my hometown. My Dad began preaching for the church here in 1964, and he and my mom continue to work with the church here. I consider myself fortunate to be able to grow up in Chester, make life-long friends, and never move. I know that many people, especially preacher’s children, are not so fortunate. It’s been great to see all the Christians I grew up with, who helped to influence my life. It’s also been good to run into several old High School friends that I hadn’t seen in years. And of course, it’s been good to be able to spend some time with my mom and dad.
Another highlight of my week was that I was able to attend the WVU-Marshall game in Morgantown. We had great tickets! 30 yard-line, third row from the field. I was afraid it was going to rain, but the rain held off, WVU won the game, got to attend with my dad and brother-in-law. It was a great day!
