What Is A Kiss?

A kiss is the contact of one person’s lips on another person which has the potential to share up to 80 million bacteria, and which sounds like a cow pulling it’s hoof out of mud.

Well, that’s one definition of a kiss, but I’m sure you would agree with me that it is woefully inadequate. You see, this definition of a kiss makes a kiss sound like something to be dreaded rather than desired. Consequently, it’s a poor definition of a kiss.

Now, let’s transition. How would you define Christianity? The definition offered by some people’s lives and words is anything but compelling and desirable. Paul instructed Titus to “adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things” (Titus 2:10). In other words, we have a responsibility of present the teachings of our Lord and the life he calls us to live in such a way that we make it attractive, appealing, desirable, and beautiful.

So let me leave you with this question: Does your definition of Christianity need some work? If your words and actions define Christianity as something uninviting, undesirable, and burdensome, then you need a better definition! Give it some thought!
